well, I could just update the database offline, then use another machine
download right software and put them in /usr/ports/distfiles...

Hi all:
Is it possible to update the database of ports offline.
It is nice to use "portsnap fetch/extract/update", but I can't use that since
one of my server has no connection to the internet...

Hello.
I try to use DBI:Pg and DBI:MySQL within a ruby-skript for accessing
either MySQL or PostgreSQL database.

Mysql is mysql50-server
Postgresql is posgresql82-server and postgresql82-client
with unixODBC and ruby-dbi and ruby-dbd_pg and ruby-dbd_mysql installed.

Hi,
This isn't a show stopping problem, it's a curiousity. Whenever i make a
port under 5.3, i get the message "database not found" then the port builds,
it doesn't matter which one i install, this error still occurs.
Thanks.
Dave.

run. I confess I've never fully understood how to answer some of the
prompts during that process. Also though, my ports tree was formed
before portupgrade/portin

Hi there,
I have a cron job that auto-cvs-updates the /usr/ports directories.
I want to update the portsdb and pkgdb as soon as cvsup has completed its
work. I am using the following two commands to do this. am I doing the right
thing?

/usr/local/sbin/portsdb -uU
/usr/local/sb

I have a problem building ports on 2 of my machines.
This problem is new, and occured on each machine (at different times)
following a problem with the ports database. Maybe I screwed up the
database?
Anyway, here's what I get:
