portupgrade overkill?

(XFree86-libraries-4.3.0_6) + x11-fonts/urwfonts portupgrade sometimes gives me the impression of taking a lot of time turning simple updates to recursive crusades, but I have always trusted it's sanity. This could be a local problem, but thought I'd let you know. Best, -- Herculano de Lima
