IBM ServeRAID
Hi list, I'm trying to install the free 7 in a IBM System x3500 server. The ServeRAID was detected but the IBM SAS 15 K Hard Disks aren't listed during the boot process. The sysinstall send the message (fdisk): No disks found ! Is it a problem with the SAS/SATA controller ? Do I need to configure the ServeRAID ? How can I fix it ? Help me! Free 7 and GNOME
Hi list, After a reboot (by energy down) the free 7 runs fsck... Even after fsck finish, the gnome is very very very slow. Gnome takes a lot of minutes (at about 10 minutes) to show the menu options and when i click on terminal option (for exemple) it takes at about 10 minutes again to show the terminal window... Hi list, My email server has postfix 2.2.10 + postgrey + amavis + uvscan + mailgraph 1.12 During the mailgraph instalation on debian exists the question Count incoming mail as outgoing mail?. So, If we have integrated a content filter like amavisd (for spam and virus scanning) into Postfix, then we answer No to avoid that Mailgraph counts our emails twice (because Postfix delivers emails to amavisd which then - after successful scanning - delivers the mails back to Postfix). I've used the sequence: cvsup -g -L 2 freebsd.sup mergemaster -p mergemaster cd /usr/src make buildworld make installworld cd /usr/src/sys/i386/conf config MYKERNEL make cleandepend make depend make make install make clean portupgrade -a -m BATCH=yes The portupgrade command doesn't work well (file existent, rugby error, etc). Unexpected inconsistency

I was adjusting the partitions (not slices), somehow it seems the sysinstall (or the underlying subsystem) seemed to have forgotten about the swap partition. Anyway, i re-sliced the disk and repartitioned the subsequent slice w/ partitions sizes already calculated. This time i had no problem. Mind you that i installed from the same disc previously on a different computer, and missing swap node message did not come up while adjusting the partition size multiple times. Hi list, #mount -t msdos /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy ins´t working on the machine using free 6.0 The /mnt/floppy exists but /dev doesn´t have the fd0 file. Samba3 and win9x
List, I´ve installed Samba3 on a FreeBSD 5.4 server. The shared directories are see in winXP machines and they´ve worked correctly using the local users (created by adduser script with nologin) In the same network, when I use the same users in win9x machines, I´ve received a error message: Invalid password My smb.conf has: security = user encrypt password = no domain logons = yes The win9x machines has in the register: EnablePlainTextPassword = 1 What´s wrong ? Compiling postgrey
Hi list, I was compiling the posgrey in FreeBSD 5.4 (make make install) and I Received the error message: - - - - - - - - - - - /bin/sh /usr/ports/mail/postgreypkg_req INSTALL your vendor has not defined BerkeleyDB macro DB_AUTO_COMMIT, used at -e line 1 Postgrey requeires databases/p5-berkeleyDB to be built with BerkeleyDB 4.1 or newer. Full backup
Hi list, I´m using FreeBSD 5.3 - Release and I´d like to known how to make a full backup (image) of my HD scsi. With Linux machines I´ve used Norton Ghost to make a image from HD.
