Bingo! The make {,rm}config looks like it.
There's hope for 9.0-R* after all!

Thank you for a very complete way of saying RTFM -
I confess a distaste for heavy lit, but man pages!
I thank you again!

little info as to which feature my 98 or
so failed tests comes from! CPAN shows its latest release
as perl5-0.08 ! I suspect the Perl versions I've tried
may be uniquely numbered for FreeBSD. Any help?
Thanks for any help!

freebsd-update !
Chuck Bacon - c...@cape.com
I downloaded it yesterday. Here's the facts:
1. md5 matches CHECKSUM.MD5
2. When I boot off the BIOS, it takes a half minute or so, and
then: voila! PC-DOS boots, and for all the world look as
though it will boot a larger system
: The FreeBSD-8.3-RC3 boot loader doesn't
satisfy my BIOS, and the BIOS looks through the dvd until it finds
one of the DOS boot loaders provided by some fdisk variant.
Any ideas why?
If nothing else, I'll download disc1. Praps that'll work!
Many thanks,

In all FreeBSD-8.* so far, apsfilter can't be installed because of
a dependenct on hpijs, apparently through foomatic. Is there a fix?
I have no HP printer, so... a workaround? I find cups to be opaque,
at my level at least :-(
Thanks for previous help and present hope!
had installed grub? Perhaps I
should ask a Linux forum :-|
Many Thanks for previous help through the years,
and to Polytropon, whose suggestion about buffering some text
and testing the esc [ 2 0 ~ behavior, didn't work, but may
lead somewhere!
