Evolution execution problem. Installed as root. Can't run as wheel.
Hi all! I installed Evolutions e-mail suite and it went like a charm but now I can only start it up using the root account. I installed it by SU to root (as usuall) and now I cant run it with my own identity. Member of Wheel group of course. When running from terminal it complaines about not finding files. It is some kind of permissions error but what? The PATH looks the same as the root account. The output is as follows: /libexec/ld-elf.so.1: Shared object libeshell.so.0 not found I've tried to put a link in /libexec/ to the libeshell.so.0 but it doesn't work. Networking problem! Watchdog -- Timeout
Hi all! Installing 5.2 on my new box with an integraded Intel PRO 1000 CT NIC. System detects it as em0 but I cant get it to work. Please note that I am not associated with the Project while you read this. I think that this is a bug with the em driver on the 5.X series. You did note that it's a new technology release and not advertised to be suitable for everybody, right? IIRC, there have been issues with both em(4) and ACPI on the -HEAD (CURRENT, 5.X) code for a while. Good programmers are giving lots of the time and energy, coding for free to get it working, but some things are tricky. You might run without ACPI for a while, switch NICs until the problem is fixed, or run 4.9 or 4.10 [which is due out Real Soon Now(tm)] instead of 5.2 Kevin Kinsey I guess you have a good point! =0) I just now another guy with the some NIC (Intel PRO 1000 CT) and it worked fine but it could be antoher device that is really messing up my system. What eactly do I miss with ACPI disabled? Have a good one Kevin! My router works fine with my other bsd and win boxes... Suggestions? Installation on RAID 0 and uninstallation of Boot Mgr
Hi all! Having problem with installing 5.2.1 on a computer with 2 SATA 80G disk in RAID 0 (Striping) There is a WinXP installed already which has 4 primary partitions of 5, 10, 25 and 60G. My BSD installation went like usuall. I chose to create a Slice on ar0 in the unpartitioned 50G space. Then I chose to install Boot Manager. When commitin the changes a got error like node for 'X' slices failed ,mount /dev unavailable. I will give you the exact error messages if you need them! Then I had to reboot my machine and I got very suprised that the boot manager was installed showing: F1 ??? F2 ??? F3 ??? F4 ??? Which probaly means my 4 NTFS partitions. XP boots if I choose F1. So my questions are: 1. How do I install BSD on my current RAID 0 system 2. How can I remove Bootmanager if I dont succeed with my BSD installation?
