Where does the question come from? Have you read about "block relay"
on a Linux help page and trying to find the FBSD equivalent, or have
you seen "block relay" as an undocumented option to ifconfig in FBSD?

I am trying to set up a FreeBSD wireless access point as per the
instructions in chapter 24.3 of the handbook.
I have successfully done this in the past using FreeBSD 4.8.

version and applying Sam Leffler's patch.

You can use the madwifi driver, resident in the standard 5.2.1 distribution.
kldload ath_hal
kldload if_ath
You will be able to tell if the madwifi driver "sees" your atheros-based
card by looking at the output of the second module load. If it does, you
can use ifconfig (man ifconfig) to configur

connect to my linksys home wireless router and because of the problem, had
to upgrade to fbsd 5.2.1 and noticed more activity out of my wireless card.
The computer is a Toshiba Satellite 2405-S221 with a Avaya Wire
