According to Aryeh Friedman : it sure doesn't do it on my geForce 8400 gs. it does well with a 8500 GT. You have to change the file /usr/local/lib/X11/xdm/Xservers (in fact /usr/local/share/examples/xdm/Xservers due to an other problem) to have : :0 local /usr/local/bin/X -br -ignoreABI :0 and start your xdm/gdm/kdm as you want. And I have Composite enable too. I just have a warning and no other problems.
