A bit longer and more involved than advertised, but an interesting puzzle. Or fix the Wiki to *NOT* rely on register_globals in the first place. mysql_pconnect is MySQL functionality, make sure your PHP installation has MySQL support. You can find out by making a page named putting ?php phpinfo(); ? and then visiting it in your web browser. Restart apache and make sure that the mysql extension is being loaded in the php.ini file (phpinfo() gives you the path to php.ini, use the extension directive to tell php to load a module).
