Hi All
I've just installed Freebsd 7-Beta4 and I cannot get my mouse to work.
During the boot I can see that the mouse is detected
ums0: addr 2> on uhub1
ums0: 5 buttons and a TILT dir.
but it doesn't move
I tested with moused and I got the following
freebsd# moused -f -d -p /dev/ums0 -t
Hi, all
I have a Microsoft USB wireless mouse, but it cannot work in FreeBSD,
neither in console nor in KDE. It goes well in Linux and Windows. However,
after I plug the receiver into the USB interface, the kernel recongizes the
hardware, and I get this in /var/log/message

What is the mouse you're using? Was this part of a wireless desktop
(keyboard and mouse)?

Hello all!
Can anyone shed some light on why FreeBSD 5.3-release would identify my
USB 2.0 wireless mouse as a wireless keyboard and how I might begin to
solve this problem? When I plug it in I get:
Ukbd0: wireless inc tw wireless usb device, rev 1.10/10.01, addr 2,

Kbd1 at ukbd0
I'm having problems getting a logitech wireless mouse working on 5.2.1
(cvsupped & updated 12 hours ago). I had this working without problem
with exactly the same hardware a few weeks ago but had to reinstall, for
various reasons and didn't make any copies of the

outside of the scope of my knowledge to monkey with, but perhaps it'll
help somebody else who's reading this and sufficiently motivated...
I'm not sure what was different this past reboot, but I plugged the
mouse into the PS/2 port and added the "allscreens_flags&q

if they sell one at all (Are you listening, Logitech? You bastards...)
feel like crap to type on. But this isn't the place for that rant.
Also, to address Lucas Holt's comment, the keyboard & mouse combo I'm
trying to get working at work is the
k is the infrared model. I have the
Bluetooth model keyboard/mouse at home, but it's not connected to a BSD
box. I'm still puzzled why the wireless keyboard would work fine, but
the wireless mouse, which uses the same receiver, doesn't.

another possible issue is that some microsoft wireless products use
infrared and new high end products use bluetooth adapters.

I'll start this post by saying THANKS to all involved who have provided
me with the answers to my last two posts (as frustrating as I'm sure
they were). So far my FBSD box is living up to its reputation as being a

Assuming you have:

can you test the mouse with
any success through
sysinstall -> configure -> mouse?

I recently bought a micro innovations wireless USB mouse and it worked great
with my FreeBSD. It didn't work too good with windows, so I bought a
Microsoft wireless USB intelimouse. No matter how many times I try to
connect the mouse and the receiver, it wont work. I tried going to the
