FBSD 5.3 w/ Silicon Image SATA

I have a Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe with a Silicon Image Sil 3112a controller. I was able to create the ar0 device while loading the OS but cannot boot off the resulting load (the image is mirrored on both drives). The ar0 device does not appear in the kernel messages. The error I get is: Mounting
