(unless i disable MSIX). But I found override - I
removed igb driver from kernel config, and a module from loader.conf.
Than booted in single user mode, and manually loaded igb driver. No
panic! Appareantly something gets wrong _only_ at boot time.

As I remember when I did upgrade from FreBSD 6.4 to 7.0, I ran
'portupgrade -afi' after thar, BUT as I remember all my ports in fact
works
. This should give you maximum compile speed in case when
package is unavailable while using portupgrade -afP

(after upgrade from FreeBSD 6 to 7 issue has been seen 80% less
frequently for me), so my one and only suggestion for you is using
different PATA controller if you can.

(RAIDZ1). After 4 weeks uptime with varied workload I assumed it's
stable. Unfortunately ZFS crashed next week ;)
