I discussed this with Kimmo and this is what I found out.
First, any idea why the freeze happened in the first place? Any way
you know to reproduce it?
No idea. Just freezed and crashed. This has not occurred before.

Send us one or more rc files (particularly mapseed but also number of
players) to reproduce it.
Delving into the mapgen code is a very tricky business however.

Not drawing borders under FOW is an interesting solution. If someone
