[Freeciv-Dev] [patch #2352] Move ferry statistics from adv data to default ai data
Follow-up Comment #1, patch #2352 (project freeciv): THis patch should not change autogames, but it does. I have already slowly debugged the problem for several days. It's quite likely that I end up reorganizing patch series so that patches currently depending on this one can be committed already when this patch is being debugged and fixed. There might be similar autogame problem with patch #2389, though I have not checked if addition of patch #2423 to earlier phase of the series has fixed that. ___ Reply to this item at: http://gna.org/patch/?2352 ___ Message sent via/by Gna! http://gna.org/ ___ Freeciv-dev mailing list Freeciv-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/freeciv-dev

My guess would be it's intended to be an assertion-type pattern. However, it's not entirely obvious that the rest of the function will fall over if this condition occurs. For instance, pgwl is checked by assertion later. So I'm not sure. I think this came in with r16285 http://svn.gna.org/viewcvs/freeciv?view=revrevision=16285, patch #1291. ___ Reply to this item at: http://gna.org/bugs/?17595 ___ Message sent via/by Gna! http://gna.org/ ___ Freeciv-dev mailing list Freeciv-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/freeciv-dev
[Freeciv-Dev] [patch #2352] Move ferry statistics from adv data to default ai data
Follow-up Comment #2, patch #2352 (project freeciv): - Replaced ai_plr_data_get() call with def_ai_player_data() call in aiferry_init_stats(). As added comment says: /* def_ai_player_data() instead of ai_plr_data_get() is deliberate. We are only initializing player data structures and ai_plre_data_get() would try to use it uninitialized. We are only setting values to data structure, not reading them, so we have no need for extra arrangements ai_plr_data_get() would do compared to def_ai_player_data() */ This resolves at least one autogame problem. I'm currently running tests to see if there is more. [Freeciv-Dev] [patch #2434] Easy way to disable timing results from logs
URL: http://gna.org/patch/?2434 Summary: Easy way to disable timing results from logs Project: Freeciv Submitted by: cazfi Submitted on: Sat 29 Jan 2011 02:26:35 AM EET Category: general Priority: 5 - Normal Status: Ready For Test Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Planned Release: 2.4.0 ___ Details: I have been debugging problems with autogame that should result in identical savegames, in fact resulting in different savegames. I have to find out where exactly execution starts to diverge. For that I have run autogames with full (-d 4) logging and then compared logs of the different runs to find first difference. Number of attempts to do that resulted in logs full of differences that were not about different results. That is: diffs were full of noise (and by full I mean tens of thousands of lines...) Biggest category of such differences in log files are timing loggings. If execution of autosettlers takes one millisecond longer in second run than first one, it's in diff. Attached patch puts all such timing loggings behind one macro: LOG_TIMERS. To disable all timing loggings, and thus to get more comparable logs, one needs only to undefine this one macro. ___ File Attachments: --- Date: Sat 29 Jan 2011 02:26:35 AM EET Name: LogTimers.diff Size: 15kB By: cazfi http://gna.org/patch/download.php?file_id=12149 ___ Reply to this item at: http://gna.org/patch/?2434 ___ Message sent via/by Gna! http://gna.org/ ___ Freeciv-dev mailing list Freeciv-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/freeciv-dev
