[Freeciv-Dev] [patch #1910] Command /ignore for server

2010-08-31 Thread Keyser Soze

URL:

 Summary: Command /ignore for server
 Project: Freeciv

Category: general
Priority: 5 - Normal
  Status: None

 Planned Release:

___

Details:

Some users on-line are annoying others while playing. That is bad for
freeciv, cause it keeps away new users. So I implemented a /ignore command to
be used by any player whenever he wants. The second time the command is
issued, it stops ignoring.
Syntax:
/ignore connection
/ignore alone shows ignore list.

Follow-up Comment #1:

As I used to play regularly online, I know this is a useful feature. However,
the patch is not really good yet, I am thinking about something more like
warclient.

What is wrong:
* When connection is lost, behaviour is not granted.
* If you pass an invalid username to the command, it will print the list of
the connections you are ignoring, instead of print warning.
* You cannot modify *_gen.[ch] files because they are auto-generated.
* Indentation is not correct in regard to CodingStyle documentation.
* Using // C++ style comment is not allowed (see CodingStyle documentation).
Anyway, your username is not useful for the code. :)

What can be improved:
* Ignore list could use the connection patten like in warclient. Most tools
already exist in trunk/ to allow this.

[Freeciv-Dev] [patch #1910] Command /ignore for server

2010-08-31 Thread anonymous

Follow-up Comment #2, patch #1910 (project freeciv):

I appreciate your comments and I'm glad you took charge of it.
By the time present, I'm not able to work these things out.
My patch was, in fact, only a prototype.
We're looking forward to see this command on next version of game.
Thanks.

[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #16413] Gold upkeep and Military unhappiness

2010-08-31 Thread David Fernandez

Follow-up Comment #2, bug #16413 (project freeciv):

Great!, thank you for this patch.
I'll try to compile the trunk just to test this patch.

About the other wish/suggestion:

...a city that supports as much units as his population value, can not build
new units, and you can not select it as the home city for other units.

I guess it would be much more simple to implement only the second part:

if a city supports more units than his population value, you can not select
it as the home city for other units.

And it should be enough to avoid the exploit to bypass military unhappiness.
I believe it could be useful even for default ruleset, though I suppose other
players should discuss it before.

Let's test this one first.

[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #16250] Deep ocean sprites won't work in Hex2t tileset

2010-08-31 Thread HanduMan

Follow-up Comment #3, bug #16250 (project freeciv):

Attached a suggestion how to fix deep ocean graphics for hex2t tileset. Not
exhaustively tested, just checked that deep ocean appears in the middle of
the ocean. Coastlines may appear ugly if some land is terraformed adjacent to
deep ocean. This may be used as a reference for a real fix.
