[Freeciv-Dev] [patch #4936] More thorough civ2civ3 help
Follow-up Comment #24, patch #4936 (project freeciv): S2_6 was lacking some msgids that the S2_5 version provides translation for, and those were just discarded. I think these translations are preserved in #~ comments, so the next update-po should pick them up? Certainly the script in patch #4650 is careful to do this, and looking at trunk:translations/freeciv/fi.po, I see translations there that should now spring into life when this patch is committed. Anyone who's been submitting translations directly to S2_6/trunk may have to make their own arrangements to propagate translations, though. ___ Reply to this item at: http://gna.org/patch/?4936 ___ Message sent via/by Gna! http://gna.org/ ___ Freeciv-dev mailing list Freeciv-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/freeciv-dev

Follow-up Comment #23, patch #4936 (project freeciv): Though fi.po might be the only translation affected in practice, this has the implication that even if S2_5 translation is not updated since it was last msgmerged to S2_6, simply doing the msgmerge again will improve S2_6 translation. That's because when previous msgmerge was made, S2_6 was lacking some msgids that the S2_5 version provides translation for, and those were just discarded. ___ Reply to this item at: http://gna.org/patch/?4936 ___ Message sent via/by Gna! http://gna.org/ ___ Freeciv-dev mailing list Freeciv-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/freeciv-dev

Typing the first few characters of a city name should bring the cursor toward the sought city. Actual behaviour: The find city tab appears, and typing characters of a city's name works as long as the first key does not also happen to invoke some unit action. Instead, the current focus unit sentries (Strasbourg), brings up the goto/airlift dialog (Tijuana), waits (Westminster) or builds a road (Rostock). Interestingly, if the focused engineer is on a tile with railroads, the find city dialog finds R-cities. [Freeciv-Dev] Freeciv 2.5.0 final release
The final release of Freeciv 2.5.0 is now available as source code for download, based on the second release candidate. Compared to 2.4, 2.5 ships with David Fernandez's civ2civ3 ruleset for the first time (as well as the classic rules), gives much more flexibility to other ruleset authors, and includes a new Qt client. See more details at http://www.freeciv.org/wiki/NEWS-2.5.0. Compared to RC2, the final release just updates some translations and graphics. Download the source tarball from one of our mirrors, linked from http://www.freeciv.org/wiki/Download#Stable_2.5. (Windows packages should follow shortly at the same location.) Thanks to all contributors and bug reporters that helped with this release over the past three years or so. Enjoy it! Re: [Freeciv-Dev] Freeciv 2.5.0 final release
I wrote: The final release of Freeciv 2.5.0 is now available as source code for download, based on the second release candidate. So the string/code freeze on S2_5 is now lifted. At some point soonish we'll have a last 2.4.5 release, and there have been some string changes since 2.4.4, so translators should plan one last round of translations on S2_4. S2_4 strings aren't frozen yet (and I have at least one string change pending), but we should probably not gratuitously change strings from now on.
