[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #20809] Government type list disappears
Follow-up Comment #1, bug #20809 (project freeciv): Actually, it is possible to recover the governments list. I switched to the SDL client, changed the government, and saved the game. When I got back to the GTK client, the government list was restored. ___ Reply to this item at: http://gna.org/bugs/?20809 ___ Message sent via/by Gna! http://gna.org/ ___ Freeciv-dev mailing list Freeciv-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/freeciv-dev

[Freeciv-Dev] (PR#40775) Crash playing SDL version 2.1.9 on Windows 98
URL: http://bugs.freeciv.org/Ticket/Display.html?id=40775 The attached CIVCLIENT.RPT file was generated following a crash of FreeCiv-SDL on a Windows 98 box. I had built Marco Polo's Embassy, and had agreed to a cease-fire with all of my AI opponents. Now I had just agreed to peace with all but one of the opponents. I pressed F3 to contact the only opponent that was still in cease-fire, but the program crashed. I did not see the dialog before it went down. I saw no problems with the other opponents when I was talking with them. Can this please be fixed? If you need more details, please ask. If this meets with you approval, could this be included in the main distribution? BTW, are there any plans to reproduce the royal advisor movies from Civ 2 in Freeciv? [Freeciv-Dev] (PR#40603) Suggestions
URL: http://bugs.freeciv.org/Ticket/Display.html?id=40603 I would like to suggest to add to Freeciv (SDL version) that when loading an existing game, sort the list of saved games by the date they were written. This way you can determine which was the most recently saved game to continue your last game. After playing a few games, it is difficult to see which is the game you want to continue. [Freeciv-Dev] (PR#40046) Crash bug in SDL 2.1.2 client
URL: http://bugs.freeciv.org/Ticket/Display.html?id=40046 Version: Freeciv 2.1.2 Client crash bug 1: (SDL, Untested in GTK) When trying to bribe an enemy unit, the client asks amount and after clicking yes, the client crashes. This has been earlier identified as a bug that happens when the window is closed and then information is retreived from the window without checking if it still exists. This was fixed for GTK 2.1.0, but appears not to have been fixed for SDL 2.1.2. Here is the CivClient.Rpt file. There are some other crashes in here, but I was not able to identify a consistent cause. Hopefully this helps. --- Error occured on Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at 10:41:58. [Freeciv-Dev] (PR#39716) Crash while using FreeCiv SDL Client 2.1.0 beta 6
URL: http://bugs.freeciv.org/Ticket/Display.html?id=39716 Crash issues with FreeCiv SDL Client 2.1.0 beta 6 In the current game, when I try to bribe a unit with a spy, the program crashes. I am asked if I want to bribe the unit, with a reasonable value for the bribe and an accurate value for the amount in the treasury. After I accept the bribe, the program crashes. The MS-Windoze crash message is as follows. CIVCLIENT caused an invalid page fault in module CIVCLIENT.EXE at 0177:004cc490. Registers: EAX= CS=0177 EIP=004cc490 EFLGS=00010206 EBX=00ceb690 SS=017f ESP=00adf7d0 EBP=00adf7e8 ECX=00af087c DS=017f ESI=fdd4 FS=4637 EDX=000117b7 ES=017f EDI= GS= Bytes at CS:EIP: 8b 00 89 04 24 e8 16 6e f7 ff 85 c0 74 e1 a1 60 Stack dump: dbb896d0 0001 bff92b49 0061e96c 0003bbc9 00adf808 004ef085 00ceb690 01cb 013b 0061e96c 0003bbc9 00adf828 004aaeb8 After the crash, the stderr.txt and stdout.txt files were empty. This is a very consistent crash. Every time I try this, even with other spies bribing other units after restarting the game, the client crashes. This also happens when I try to incite a revolt in a neighboring city. It also crashes when pressing F5 while researching Future Tech. As a side note, when you have nothing left to research, the science screen does not present Future Tech. It only gives None. I am working on a Windows 98 box, with a 400 MHz Celeron II processor, 320 MiB of RAM, 10+ GiB free on C: where the game is installed. If you want a copy of the save file, or you have other questions, let me know and I will forward what I can to you. [Freeciv-Dev] (PR#39672) Bug and Suggestion report.
URL: http://bugs.freeciv.org/Ticket/Display.html?id=39672 Good afternoon, I have noted the following problems and ideas while playing the latest beta of FreeCiv. FreeCiv Bugs: 01. On-line Help: Wonders show Required=0 and Obsolete By as the tech required, instead of the technology advance that renders it obsolete. 02. Selecting Nations: Choosing any ?nationgroup gives an empty list. 03. Games - Local Options: Screen too long to fit on 1024 X 768 screen. The program should check screen size. The Ok and Cancel buttons on the bottom are inaccessible. 04. Sometimes focus goes to another application, which was just sitting in the background, when closing pop-up window. FreeCiv suggestions: 01. On-line Help: Give on-line help for the starting game options, not just the HTML files. 02. On-line Help: Show path to each technology advance (not just what it allows, but what allows it). 03. On-line Help: Put images from the tile set in the help display. 04. When picking a name from the listbox when selecting nations, the program should set the appropriate gender for the person, but let the player change it after. 05. Do not put up Welcome to Freeciv window with Game Options until the server is connected. 06. Show which wonders are obsolete on WorkList. I also have some crashes at various times. I have not been able to determine a consistent cause, but it always reports a General Protection Fault in USER.(EXE OR DLL, I forget which). It generally crashes after a couple of hours of play. I have yet to complete a game after 6 or 7 attempts. I am running on a Windows 98, Celeron II, 400 MHz with 320 MB of RAM and somewhere around 30 GB of disk free on the partition containing Windows and Program Files. Any other details or test you want, just ask. I will try the last stable instead.
