Follow-up Comment #3, bug #16598 (project freeciv): Your patch seems good. The problem in bug #15945 was due to the usage of packet_city_info to investigate a city. With the is-info flag, this packet is not sent if it is identical to the previous. But, the reception of this packet is used to popup the city dialog. For the packet_city_short_info, there is no problem. Update of bug #16598 (project freeciv): Category:None = client Status:None = Ready For Test Assigned to:None = jtn ___ Follow-up Comment #2: I've tracked this down to r17793 in bug #15945, in August. The attached patch seems to fix it. I don't understand the subtleties of the network protocol that led to the series of bugs culminating in bug #15945, but the change there that caused this problem seems unrelated to the rest of that fix, and I don't see how this patch could be harmful. Still, I'd appreciate review. (If I'm right, this bug might have prevented seeing other civs' wonders as well, although I haven't tested it.) This happens with new games and savegames (such as file #10098 from bug #16597). The same savegame doesn't show the issue when loaded into S2_2. Middle-clicking on cities never seems to show them as having a Palace, even if you have up-to-date information on them.
