I've long thought it funny that there isn't a way to view this information
once a game has started. The client displays the version at the main menu,
but i never had a problem until i was past that... ;^)

While on the topic, it'd be great if you could view the client version number
from within the (GTK2) UI; f.e. under Help About Freeciv

Another reason for fixing this is that in the help text (which is the same in
all clients), various features are called out as only being implemented in the
GTK client.
