[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #18198] gtk clients do not show their client_string anywhere.
Follow-up Comment #3, bug #18198 (project freeciv): I've long thought it funny that there isn't a way to view this information once a game has started. The client displays the version at the main menu, but i never had a problem until i was past that... ;^) ___ Reply to this item at: http://gna.org/bugs/?18198 ___ Message sent via/by Gna! http://gna.org/ ___ Freeciv-dev mailing list Freeciv-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/freeciv-dev

Follow-up Comment #2, bug #18198 (project freeciv): While on the topic, it'd be great if you could view the client version number from within the (GTK2) UI; f.e. under Help About Freeciv ___ Reply to this item at: http://gna.org/bugs/?18198 ___ Message sent via/by Gna! http://gna.org/ ___ Freeciv-dev mailing list Freeciv-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/freeciv-dev
[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #18198] gtk clients do not show their client_string anywhere.
Follow-up Comment #1, bug #18198 (project freeciv): Another reason for fixing this is that in the help text (which is the same in all clients), various features are called out as only being implemented in the GTK client. ___ Reply to this item at: http://gna.org/bugs/?18198 ___ Message sent via/by Gna! http://gna.org/ ___ Freeciv-dev mailing list Freeciv-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/freeciv-dev

Project: Freeciv Submitted by: cazfi Submitted on: Fri 10 Jun 2011 02:16:41 PM EEST Category: client-gtk-3.0 Severity: 1 - Wish Priority: 5 - Normal Status: None Assigned to: None Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Release: Discussion Lock: Any Operating System: None Planned Release: ___ Details: As far as I can see gtk-clients do not mention the fact that they are gtk-clients anywhere. Mentioning it for example next to version number in main menu would probably help with some of the people who don't know what client they are using when reporting bugs etc. Even more, now that we have almost identical gtk2-client and gtk3-client in TRUNK, easy way to see that you are running the client you meant to test would be good for developers. (./civ script does print to console which gui it starts, but...) ___ Reply to this item at: http://gna.org/bugs/?18198 ___ Message sent via/by Gna! http://gna.org/ ___ Freeciv-dev mailing list Freeciv-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/freeciv-dev
