Could we remove it soon? All those gui-mui specific strings are very
annoying when starting up a new localization (I'm working on a Korean
translation). Let's at least remove gui-mui/* from freeciv.pot...

It should be removed from freeciv.pot and distribution now (S2_1 and
trunk). I don't much care if it's still kept under version control a
bit longer or not.

There are still some (Amiga and MorphOS users use gui-mui) but currently
it is probably good idea let gui-mui go and use gui-sdl. I was supposed to
update gui-mui to 2.x tree but I ran out of time and motivation there and
I'm still not very motivated to code Freeciv :)

But is gui-sdl usable? When I checked it years ago it was quite bad. I
suppose guisdl is now comparable to mainstream gui kits?

It's very close to feature complete, in fact, and plays very well. The
only critical function missing AFAIK is a save load game dialog.
This can be worked around by using server commands, but it is still an
embarrassing shortcoming.
