It is difficult to load the boot sector to hard
disk drives under WindowsXP. There is an HP utility
which may allow you to partition and format your
compact flash device and install FreeDOS. Look for
SP27213.exe at ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/softpaq/sp27001-27500.
