can mount .iso images IIRC.

SHSUCDHD which mounts CD/DVD ISOs,
ISOLINUXes MEMDISK which boots from
(optionally compressed) disk images

There's e0x, however I can't say if it will fit to your needs...
Seams like you can temporary mount the disk and start an application.
But it can't permanently mount it with a drive letter?
