Hi all, I just made a SVG version of the "glossy Binky", based on Rikard's JPG file. Here it is: http://mateusz.viste.free.fr/dos/blinky3.svg Here is a PNG export: http://mateusz.viste.free.fr/dos/blinky3.png Best regards, Mateusz Viste - This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc. Yikes, My misstake. I'll recreate the glossy in SVG then. If it's possible ;) Thanks for the heads up mate. rikard_lang On 9/1/07, Mateusz Viste <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > On Saturday 01 September 2007 09:03, Rikard Lang wrote: > > visit http://geocities.com/scan_brain/ for a zip archive of glossy > > blinky in svg, png and two jpeg versions. > > It seems that the SVG is buggy > When opened, it displays only "Linked image not found". > I looked into the source code, and I saw that there is no SVG code there, > just standard xml frames, with a link to > "/Users/rikardlang/Pictures/Blinky/blinkyglossy.png", which is probably the > directory tree of your hard drive... :-) > That's definetely not the way a SVG should be made. Ok guys, visit http://geocities.com/scan_brain/ for a zip archive of glossy blinky in svg, png and two jpeg versions. I am sure geocities enforces a MB transfer limit so I will try to find a new home for it shortly. Enjoy rikard_lang - This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc. Gimp is a raster-format editor, it can't handle vector images, just import then to raster-based images. > If you have any idea of another software I can use I'd be happy > to create the glossy version and export it as a SVG. Of course. The main two vector (SVG-enabled) software for Linux are Inkscape (the one which I prefer, and which I am using), and Karbon. You will find the last Inkscape version at http://www.inkscape.org. Best regards, Mateusz Viste - This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc. Still grepping through log files to find problems? Re: [Freedos-user] I've created a glossy version of Blinky
Mateusz, I actually used your SVG-file but I can't find out how to save it as SVG from the Gimp which is the software I am using. I can only save the file in different bitmapped versions, gif, png, jpeg etc. If you have any idea of another software I can use I'd be happy to create the glossy version and export it as a SVG. rikard_lang - This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc. Thanks for the kind words. Actually the background is transparent however I've added a white background to the picture and it can be found here: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y110/rixard/blinkyglossy_wbg.png rikard_lang On 8/31/07, Aitor Santamaría <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Looks good! No it does not - actually the border IS black and the background is transparent :-D. Just view the blinkyglossy with ImageMagick or another transparency-aware viewer. When using it on a web page, put it on white or light background. Maybe it would be nice to have an index html on i4.photobucket.com/albums/y110/rixard/ ... Cool to have a glossy version of the FreeDOS fish, thanks! :-) I think Rugxulo should use the glossy blinky as basis for a sample JPG and PNG file if he has viewers for that on his new diskette distro :-) Eric - This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc. It seems you're using some some oldish image-reader software... In fact, the background is transparent, but your software (which can't support PNG transparency) translates it into black. Re: [Freedos-user] I've created a glossy version of Blinky
Looks good! It's nice to see a 3D version of the logo. Just one thing: I've seen the main logo in the site and noticed that its border, as much as it's mouth, is black. In your picture, the background is also black, so it mixes with the border. Could you please create another one over, say, white background, where the black border can be easily differenciated?
