Re: [Freeipa-interest] Can freeIPA enter into trust relationship with AD?

I'm aware of this, however I don't really have the time to give freeIPA a try (unfortunately). Since * freeipa.org says "For occasional updates on our progress, subscribe to freeipa-interest" * and in getting involved it says "Subscribe to freeipa-interest mailing list for product-related announcements" I just wanted to stay up to date. Hence my conclusion that there is either no progress or the list was just forgotten. Granted it was a bit of a flame. At least I now know you are indeed alive :) I was even surprised that -interest isn't a read only newsletter like list when I saw the original message (*hint*) regards, Martin -- http://www.xing.com/profile/Martin_Marcher http://www.linkedin.com/in/martinmarcher You are not free to read this message, by doing so, you have violated my licence and are required to urinate publicly. This was probably not a good idea since it lead to the wrong conclusion. We are actively working on the FreeIPA 2.0 that is coming out later this year. It is going to include: * CS integration for service and host certs * DNS integration * Automount * Netgroups * NIS migration * Host based access control And more... A separate related project we are working on is SSSD: https://fedorahosted.org/sssd/ It provides the framework of different identity and authentication sources on the client side. IPA will have means to hook into SSSD as identity and authentication source. We are also looking into more native integration with AD. We are planning to take advantage of Samba 4 and use it as a facade and pretend that IPA is another AD forest. This effort started but is not a part of freeIPA 2.0. One can read more about it here: http://www.freeipa.org/page/IPAv3_development_status Thank you, Dmitri Pal ___ Freeipa-interest mailing list Freeipa-interest@redhat.com https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/freeipa-interest
