[Freeipa-users] MD5 passwords in NIS

2011-12-28 Thread Boris Epstein
Hello listmates, Apparently, in order to authenticate a Mac OS X Lion client to NIS one needs passwords encrypted in MD5 hash shown in the passwd and passwd.byname maps. FreeIPA at this point only shows a *. Is there a way to change that? Thanks and Happy New Year! Boris.

Hello all, How do I control which NIS maps FreeIPA makes available? Specifically I may need passwd.byname. Also, how do I control what sort of encryption it uses for passwords? Thanks. Boris. ___ Freeipa-users mailing list Freeipa-users@redhat.com

Just tried to install sssd from the above repo. There's only packages for the old 10.04 lucid and 10.10 maverick, nothing for 11.04 natty or 11.11 oneiric. I tried to install on natty using packages from maverick, but it depends on packages no longer available in the natty package tree.

[Freeipa-users] FreeIPA on CentOS 5.6

2011-11-09 Thread Boris Epstein
Hello all, I am an absolute beginner here... So... I have a machine that only has 512 MB of RAM which is too small to house Fedora. So that machine is running CentOS 5.6. And now I want to install FreeIPA on it. Has anybody done it? If so, how have you done it? Thanks. Boris.
