Thanks for that Rob. I was going off of the docs, that's why i went to the
download page. I will give ldapclient a whirl and see how we go.

thanks again for getting back to me so quickly.

2012-11-28 Thread Sigbjorn Lie
Hi,

There was an issue with Solaris 11. I can't remember of the top of my head, I
believe it had to do
with logins. So ldapclient would run successfully, and kerberos would set up
successfully as well,
however there we're some issue when logging in.

I suppose it's time to have a closer look at it one of these days...if I can
find some spare time. :)

I have not tested with solaris 10, but I can confirm that it works
with openindiana (former opensolaris) using the instructions in
http://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/Fedora/17/html/FreeIPA_Guide/Configuring_an_IPA_Client_on_Solaris.html

I posted a while ago a problem with this when using dhcp (see
archives:
https://www.redhat.com/archives/freeipa-users/2012-September/thread.html#1,
look for 'openindiana' and you will find the whole thread). As
Sigbjorn Lie pointed, you can use a DUAprofile which *just works*.

You shouldn't need to use this. The native packages in 10 and 11 should
work fine with IPA (see ldapclient).

I was able to download the i386 bits from Solaris 10 just fine, so you
might want to try it again.

There are no plans to support these existing packages or build them for
other releases.

[Freeipa-users] Solaris 10 and Solaris 11 clients

2012-11-27 Thread Tim Wissman
Folks - I have started using FreeIPA and have tried to download the Solaris
10 nss-ldap for the intel platform, but when i tried to save the file i
received an error saying the server had issues. I was able to download the
SPARC package from the same site. If someone could look into it, it could
just be a permissions problem.

As for Solaris 11, has there been any work in that direction yet?

thanks.
