Re: [Freeipmi-devel] bmc-config pef checkout
Hi Al, PEF commands give 0x1C completion code on IPMI 2.0 machine. I think, most of IPMI boxes don't have PEF. If possible, can you try Intel proprietary tools to know whether the box supports PEF. Unfortunately I don't have physical access to IPMI machines here Thanks, Bala --- Free as in freedom http://www.gnu.org/ > I know that the scheme version didn't work for me either. I know that the scheme version didn't work for me either. I'm more curious than anything. When I was doing the libfreeipmi audit/upgrade (with only 1 ipmi machine) I just assumed that it didn't support pef. But 3 different machines (3 different vendors and 3 different ipmi implementations) all not supporting pef seemed too odd to me. Al, I did not have access to an ipmi2 machine so PEF is _not_ tested. I dont know if the bmc-config scheme version was working for you, but the C version uses the same API which the scheme one was using. avati On Fri, Jul 28, 2006 at 05:26:35AM -0700, Albert Chu wrote: > Out of my curiosity, has this been verified to work on a machine? > > I have three IPMI machines, all of which see completion code errors of > 0xC1 = Used to indicate an unrecognized or unsupported command. > > I can't help but think that atleast 1 of my 3 should support PEF.
