It supports EAP-MD5 which is the authentication method I'm attempting to use.

Yep.. I have both of the sql queries for simul use uncommented .. below is
my radiusd -X output .. (checkrad is in /usr/local/sbin and executable by
everybody), also my NAS's are set up in clients.conf .. and below the
radiusd -X output is the output created when a user has 0 stoptime
..
What am I missing that is causing checkrad to be ingnore/not called ??

Try uncommenting shadow = /etc/shadow in the unix module of radiusd.conf.
It's commented by default.

Start means that a user has started a new session.
On means that the NAS has rebooted, and is turning accounting on.

I try to install radius on Unix Sun Solaris 5.8 but
thecommand to install does not run.
for example, the first comand.
bash$ tar zxvf freeradius-[version].tar.gz
