I have an ISP scenario using freeradius 1.0.1. to authenticate dialup customers on our single domain. We use a Mysql backend. We have added a second domain for a national dialup service. A 3rd party providing the POPS will pass radius requests to our radius servers. Question:

Recently I installed 1.0.1 and am very pleased with it. One thing I would like to do is have it log to syslog so I can send the logs to a central server so technical staff can use the logs for troubleshooting. If I tell FreeRadius to log to syslog the correct way, it doesn't. I know the source

If I tell FreeRadius to log to syslog the correct way, it doesn't. What correct way? I set the -l flag in the startup script and the -g flag to set the facility. In the CVS snapshots, there is another, better way to tell the server to log to syslog. I'll have a look at the

I am looking into new RADIUS options to get away from a custom variatyion of Livingston. Does FreeRadius support using a cdb file for auth? If so, is it a module that must be installed? Any links to documentation or walk-throughs welcome! Thanks for the response! Christian - List
