I want to compile freeradius without ssl, i tried with
./configure --disable-ssl
./configure --disable-openssl
./configure --without-ssl
./configure --without-openssl
however always i see
checking for regex.h... yes
checking for openssl/ssl.h... no

how can i compile

As soon as I remove the --disable-static from the configure it seems
to work fine. What do you think could be causing that?

I am running freeradius 1.0.4 + mysql 4.1.16. I have use the mysql
database schema from the freeradius tar ball. Everything seems to be
setup correctly I can authenticate from flat text files but not from
any database usernames. Here is the output from my /usr/sbin/radiusd -X:

Have you installed the MySQL development extensions? They are essential.
You also need to compile FreeRadius with experimental modules to enable
MySQL.
