In your local_conf.py there is a option like this:
MPLAYER_ARGS_DEF
It has the defaults that would be used by all file types.
Then, if you have specific options for avi, or mpg, or realmedia or
whatever, you add them to:
MPLAYER_ARGS = { 'avi' : '...',
...
}

I have freevo installed and it basically works. I'm having trouble
using the freevo version of mplayer. It simply doesn't play my
avi files in the same way as the normal mplayer, which I built and
installed separately, from the the unix command line.
How can I tweak the mplayer parameters used b
Hello Alec,
It changed, now you don't need .interface anymore, just:

plugin.activate( 'idlebar.clock' )

use plugin.activate('idlebar') not the old command in your local_conf.py
from a previous version.

Hello again,
As i said in the subject, the idlebar plugin failed to load with the
latest snapshot (03 sept 2003) although with the same config it was
working well with version 1.3.4.
Here's what the log says :

Next relase should deal ok with supermount devices, because now it
try to recognize drives based on mount points too (/mnt/cdrom[0-9]*)
Also, freevo mount/unmount devices itself. So you need that the user
freevo is running as is able to mount/umount devices.

Hello there,
I managed to use the amazon cover search and it worked...well with an
unexpected feature.
It replaced all the icons for all my mp3 files and directories and
playlist with the photo of the album's jacket. Now i'm looking for a way
to go back to normal...
If anybody has a fix for this i

Yes, the directory does exist and I can do mount /media/cdrom and umount
/media/cdrom successfully as an ordinary (non-root) user. I can also
use mplayer from the command line to play movies on the mounted CD.
That's what is so puzzling.

Sorry, there was a m
does /media/cdrom exist on the SuSE box? That is not a dir created by
default. make sure it is there. one of the things automounters do is
automatically create dirs they use. make sure the dir you put in

I have tried running Freevo on two different computers. The one I
*want* to run it on runs SuSE 8.2. Freevo reads fstab and seems to find
my CD-ROM OK, but no matter what I do I can't get freevo to recognize
that there is a CD in the drive.
On the other hand, the other box running Mandrake 8.
Hmm, I'm running Mandrake 9.1 and tried installing
via linux drivers included on disk. It shows Mandrake 8.2 and up to Redhat 7.3
on CD, but I thought it might work.

Check your freevo.conf file and make sure the resolution there is
something acceptable for your device.

Hi,
I'm trying to install Freevo under Debian but I'm

Morning all,
Just trying out 1.3.4 last night and well great work folks and thanks.
One thing I noticed though, the audio.coversearch plugin crashes freevo
when it tries to update to a folder that is read only.

Hi,
yesterday I have installed the newest snapshot of freevo and mmpython. This was my
first "upgrade" of freevo. Here are my problems and solutions about that...
1. The startup script did not recognize that the runtime was present. (It complained
about "import Image"...) It tried to find runapp
