This is _not_ the most recent source. New makefiles for Aldor
interface are revision 677 and current revision is 684.
For just compiling fricas+aldorinterface that should not matter. The
aldor interface has worked before. That must be another issue.
I can not say if that matters, but:

Major changes planned for next release are done. The only release

My first glance gave me a good impression. I'll check more carefully
tonight.
There is still time for some smaller

Waldek,
I am sorry I was a little confused, mixing two different problems.
The problem I have with Aldor and FriCAS is not on my Debian machine
but rather on the Sage virtual machine that I use to run the Axiom
wiki. That machine is running Ubuntu

Thanks,
:-) I guess I have forgotten about almost as many problems as I have
ever solved !
My example in this old thread mentioned by Waldek is exactly the case
I mentioned above.
Getting old, working to many late nights...
As I said, I think we should commit this patch or else I will

the hashcode.spad patch. That may very well be the problem.
I think we should commit this patch to FriCAS and just make the new
Waldek,
I have a few more patches that I would like to get into FriCAS before
the next release but really none of them are critical. Here's one
for XPOLY. It adds a couple of missing functions. I first mentioned
this patch here:

Waldek,
One more run-time flag does not seem very desirable to me - especially
if it affects things as basic as hash codes. I would rather say that
we only support Aldor version 1.1.0 or greater (the open source
version). I have no idea how many people might be using

The attached patch modifies configure.ac so that Aldor
interface will be built only when '--enable-aldor' is
given.
OK. Commit.

Yes I believe that is correct: This problem apparently only manifests
on 64 bit systems. Perhaps it would also be a problem to build the
FriCAS Aldor interface with a 64 bit FriCAS system and an older
version of Aldor but I do not have much experience with running the
older version in 64 bits.
