I have an iBook G3 Dual USB that has the infamous logic board
problem. I've tried reflowing the GPU a couple of times with moderate
success, but over time the problem recurs. I've given up on this
approach.
I'm considering removing the GPU altogether, but I am unsure if the
system
I don't understand. If you're using it headless and accessing via SSH,
why are you worried about the GPU problem and what do you hope to gain
by removing the GPU vs. using it as is?
This topic would be better on the G-Books list rather than G3-5 list

The HD I want to recover files and stuff from is a Maxtor 60gig 5400. I
had two HDs. The other was a 10g Maxtor 7200. I made the 10g my boot drive

Anyone have the experience with their G5 where all 3 of the firewire ports (2
in back, 1 in front) all stop working?

Have you tried replacing the battery anyway? Also, try resetting the
PRAM and try booting into Open
