Hey all. Today got some additional memory for the above system but
the g5 1.8 ghz tower(pci-x) refuses to recognize them. I currently
have two 512 sticks that work fine, but the two new 1 gb sticks don't
show.
The packing slip identifies them as PC3200 1gb DDR SDRAM 400mhz 184
pin memory, and
A couple of things have popped up. I have the radeon 9600 card, it
starts up when I press the power button in front, the fans turn on,
but I get no video display. No startup chime whereas it had been
starting up with the chime yesterday. I installed 10.4 yesterday on
the new harddrive.

Click on the physical disk itself, go to the partition tab and set it to 1 or
however many partitions you want. Go to the options tab and make sure its set
to Apple Partition Map instead of Master Boot Record and then apply it. That
will change it from MBR to APM which is bootable on a G5 and
for other software for a cheapskate?

ports available to it. Thus, if the keyboard is NOT plugged in, you
