I recently web-ordered a 250GB OWC drive (USB2/FW combo, at the right price for me at the time -- right around a bit over $100), and I LOVE it! It's bus-powered (off my Mac PowerBook G4), so it's a quick and easy external plug-in without a lot of additional hassle. I'd recommend this drive

LaCie cables are really short — maybe a foot. But I've got a LaCie 500GB d2 Quadra and I absolutely love it. It's a little noisy when it's doing something, but it's fast and reliable. And on top of that, it's gorgeous. Can't really say anything about OWC hard drives. I've always stuck wit
