I recall that running AfterDark in OS 9.2.2 required a patched version, otherwise the settings application would crash every time it ran. I may have it lying around on one of my older machines (I may have installed it on my Gossamer), but I have to check... MM -- You received this message

after dark wasn't frivolous. it prevented damage to the CRT, and apple didn't offer a similar thing... not equivalent to the app. now such things are superfluous because mac os has a screensaver app. people are very attached to after dark. for one reason it was one of the few animations people

i was unaware that burn in issues were solved on CRTs, ( other than the solution of ceasing their manufacture) and ive seen burn-in damage to notebook screens. probably ancient notebook history. it makes sense to embed a solution in the monitor itself if it's needed. either way mac os has a photo
