I couldn't work out the best place to put this message, but thought here
was most apt.
I have an iMac G3 (Indigo) lying about - I was wondering what the earliest
MacOS that I could install on that G3? I'd prefer going back to System 6 or
Mac OS 7 (7.5.3 is available for download)

I can't conceive of running a G3 on any Mac OS before 8.6 (USB support)
And actually OS 9.0/9.1 can be tuned to really fly.
So why go even further back?
I say this because I had a lot of stability issues with the 7s.
