I am trying to use iMic on a G5 with a headset w/ mic. All the sets I
find so far, have a stereo mic plug. Has anyone seen a headset w/ a mono
plug. Or will a stereo to mono adapter work? They are trying to talk on
WOW via ventrilo.

Why do you want a mono headset? A stereo headset can be very helpful in
a game

Howdy,
I'm in the process of getting a little ghetto recording studio set up
in my house and pretty much just need a way of getting multiple
instruments recorded into one mac, so have been looking at audio
interfaces, which can be quite pricey. But those griffin imic things
are pretty cheap
Mike,
the iMic is, in my experience, a great item. It will provide one stereo input,
and one stereo output, but then most Macs have that built in! I have used my
iMic to provide a way of connecting headphones to the keyboard (via usb), while
the CPU was hidden under the desk. Also to use
. But those griffin imic things
are pretty cheap (but will only take one instrument). Anyone tried
plugging more than one in at a time? Like 4 or 5? Not sure if having
the os see them all as seperate inputs would bog things down too much,
where something a bit more pro from m-audio or the like
I like my M-Audio FastTrack Ultra system, using ProTools M-Powered-8
software, which allows four mics, and other inputs including MIDI. I'm just
learning it. But it allows me to use mics of a wide variety.
