I can start up a program (GRAPHIC CONVERTER) by clicking on a jpg or
other picture file.
this is all nice and such but I have NO idea -where- GC is residing
on the drive...

You have to buy Graphic Converter from Kagi. It's an excellent image management
and manipulation program but you gotta ride herd on Kagi to get the CD if you
also order that. I still haven't received mine.
And sometimes the activation key doesn't work or isn't included as promised.
