It is the screw that is on the access panel. There are 4 that hold on the
mother board tray to be more specific. I am missing one.

On the outside? That's only holding in that side of the handle. On the inside,
it's been a while since I"ve been in
That can " run it " having the CPU codes for the G3. I wasn't even thinking
along those lines. It has been so long since I had to worry about an OS not
going on a machine.
I guess the OPs dreams of "simplify" are dashed.

I can't conceive of running a G3 on any Mac OS before 8.6 (USB support)
And actually OS 9.0/9.1 can be tuned to really fly.
So why go even further back?
I say this because I had a lot of stability issues with the 7s.

Make sure it is proper CD with valid Macintosh System with all Mac OS
drivers on that CD.

Very enough. Even 32 MiB is enough.

Hi Team,
I couldn't work out the best place to put this message, but thought here
was most apt.
I have an iMac G3 (Indigo) lying about - I was wondering what the earliest
MacOS that I could install on that G3? I'd prefer going back to System 6 or
Mac OS 7 (7.5.3 is available for download) rath

What did you test it on? What version of OS 9 (though all should work on
a Yosemite)?
