Core Image will be very slow on any PCI video, it really needs AGP or
 PCIe.

I have a flashed Nvidia GeForce 6200 256MB PCI card in a Blue White.
It runs pretty well in the first PCI slot, QE and CI hardware
supported. The disclaimer is that it will only work with a G4 ZIF, I
believe that may also be true of the flashed FX5xxx cards.

Blue White Quartz Extreme Support?

2009-12-24 Thread Jonas Ulrich
Hi all! Is there a way to enable Quartz Extreme on a Blue White 450MHZ G3?
It would have a 128MB PCI video card. Thanks!

With any Radeon card or some nVidia you can enable QE using PCI
Extreme 3.1:

I believe he's flashing the nVidia card with special firmware that
enables QE Core Graphics. I don't believe this is an Xserve Apple
video card.

The card costs more than a whole BW though.
