Re: G5 PPC to Mac Pro?
Auto Cad for Mac was release just few months ago... for Intel Macs only. They have a Trial available but you need some Students or College password.CHECK HERE http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/index?siteID=123112&id=15435044 On Mar 2, 2011 8:46pm, John Carmonne wrote: Hi All I tried to post this to the Mac Pro list but I see no life there for many months, hopefully I don't get kicked outta here for this question. Domestic senior management has 'inherited' my older G5 dual 2.0, which is more than adequate for her needs. You'll be amazed by the speed of the Nehalem machines compared with that of the PPC G5, although the G5 is still a very capable machine. I believe the later (ie current) MacPros differ only in the CPU (OWC offer upgrades to the CPU board, if that's your thing), and many sources show a degree of improvement over the Nehalem, but I think in practical terms, increasing the RAM on a 2009 machine will leave you with something which is not that far removed from the current offering. Assuming you're getting a good deal pricewise, go for the 2009 MacPro.
