Right now I have ubuntu 8.04 installed, with FluxBox as a WM.. It's not
going to win any speed contests against a modern day mac, though even
with 4 virtual desktops it's quite usable and much more responsive that
when I had 10.4.11 on here..

found in my
experience when I was stationed in Turkey around seven years ago now with my
beige G3/300 I had and entire gig showing under 10.2. Before that with 8.6 with
the same sticks 768 was the ceiling.

set, my iMac G4/800 came with a white set and my G5 came with black. So,
who knows. Either are nice keyboards, the mice do leave something to be
desired.
Too be honest, there are many third party sets out there that are more
bang for the buck.

Would completely agree here.. Just don't know if U I can really run 10.4
on this G4/400/512.
Unless I can find some PC/100 256 or 512 chips this is where it's going
to stay. Tried some PC/133 and it was unstable if it even booted at all..
