So I took out all the ram, and double checked each module. I replaced
modules just to be sure I had them all matched up. I powered on the

The message at the top of the screen said: "Device still fails after x
recoveries".
In order to run AppleJack, I needed to install an OS. The Leopard
install froze with the spinning beach ball about half way through.
Any ideas?

I had a pretty fickle G5 dual 1.8 that hated ram in ways I still do not
understand. If you reset the proc's, blasted the cuda? The next step
would be to find a matched pair of ram at 1gig. Which to be honest is a
bare baseline minimum to install 10.5. From there boot the install disk
and see where it goes.
If you get a clean install, well by hell run all the updates, make sure
software wise you are rock solid. Then power down the and start adding a
stick at a time, reboot, see if you get the hang, of, beep or what not.
See if the stick is recognized and repeat. If it is a bad stick of ram,
the needle in the hay stack will show its face.
