I mind the third option of de lower bar. I see it in Spanish, and I've
translate it as "Find Result". I don't know what is the english legend of

[Gambas-user] Can't open Console or Find Results

With Gambas 3.18 I can't see the Console, the Notes or the Find Results.
All I get with F11 key is a Toggled "Console" button in the Bottom bar of
Editor. It's only me or its a bug?

I wrote that software. It is available in the Farm with the name of
pageGrid.
The Richtext property is used because the control allows the rows to be
automatically set according to the length of their content and the
available column width (control's wordWrap property), and that can only be
calculated using RichText.
The function that do this is in pGrid class:

There is a Copy-Paste bug on the previous attached file.
This on works (I hope).

I forgot to mention that the class has a "Value" property that return a
collection with the selected row texts as values and the columns heads text
as keys.

It is a class inheriting from gridView and has a new property called
source, which can be a two-dimensional array, an array of collections or,
directly, a Result.
With this it is conformed a gridView that you can order (click on column
header) and on which you can do searches and certain level of filtering
(Shift + Click on cell).
I can not guarantee that it will not have bugs, because it has been very
little tested, but if it serves you, there you have it.

[Gambas-user] An Issue With Shell command and sudoers rules

In our company, users are "standard" users, they can't update or make
administratives jobs. There is another user (the admin user) that can do
all that things... but users doesn't know the admin password.
Searching make standard users being able of update the sistem I've created
this script
on adminuser home /home/adminuser/bin/comando.sh

#!/bin/bash
echo $1|sudo -S $2

And I've add a new rules file in sudoers.d like this

Cmnd_Alias COMANDO = /home/adminuser/bin/comando.sh

ALL ALL = (adminuser) NOPASSWD:COMANDO

If you, as a non-sudoer user, type on a terminal

/home/administrador/bin/comando.sh adminpassword /usr/bin/apt update

works fine... but, *and this is the issue*, if you do the same from a
Gambas Shell command, doesn't work. Gamba's console show that the script is
asking for you (non sudoer) password and fails.

Seems that Gambas shell doesn't mind of sudoers directives. I am missing
something?

You must search for a Value of the array.

In your array there isn't a Value "Chr", that is what you search, so always
returns -1

Thanks Charlie it works... almost.
I used Quit command because in my project I have a watch class object, from
gb.inotify component, and a project doesn't end if there is a watch active.
I change de code to:

  mywachobject.Pause
  miwachobject = Null
  TrayIcon1.visible = False
  Me.Close

And now it closes perfect.

I must apologize about a mistake on the gbLauncher 0.1.4 uploaded this
morning to Gambas's Farm. Usually I use my home language (spanish) to
variable names etc. Before upload to gambas farm I translate the variables
to a understandable english version... but I forgot translate de settings
variable names...

I've fixed it in 0.1.5 version and upload to the farm. All you have to do
is download it again.

I've just upload to Gambas Farm a project called "gbLauncher" it's a
utility that uses a TrayIcon with a configurable menu who launch comands
and applications, check a pop3 account incoming email notifier and allows
you tu send Post-it (Desktop Notes) to your own Desktop or to a remote
Desktop using a ftpServer.
It works fine, at the moment, but I receive on console this message at
start the project:

"sni-qt/15988" WARN  11:09:41.654 void
StatusNotifierItemFactory::connectToSnw() Invalid interface to SNW_SERVICE

And this others as send the quit command (I use a watch object on my
project and needs quit to finish it)

gbx3: warning: circular references detected:
gbx3: 2 Picture
gbx3: warning: 10 allocation(s) non freed.

The number of pictures and allocations non freed may vary.

I've found that first line ("sni-qt/..." etc.) appears when gb.gui.qt or
gb.qt4 is used, but not whith gb.qt5. The others warnings comes from
trayIcon.

Attach a little project with a tryIcon that shows this behaviour.

lock de files as readonly too.
In that case you must modify the code in their original project, not in the
linked one.

[Gambas-user] Actualization of wordWrapGrid on Gambas Farm

Hi

I've upload a actualized version of wordwrapgrid control to the farm.
WordWrapGrid is a Gamba's Control that inherits of GridView and shows a
grid that fit the row height to the text showed.

The previous version has a big bug: If set the worwrap property of control
to true only fit the height of the rows showed, the rest of lines are
setted to blank.

I've only tested it with a few rows, and didn't see that. Sorry.

The new versión has a new property named "source". It must be a two
dimensions Array or, directly a Result from a database. (This transform the
control in a sql viewer!)

Two samples are provided in farm, one from a Array ant one from a Result.

Hope this will usefull.

It isn't a bug is the expected behaviour for the example. I set the .expand
property of columns to true, so they change it's width at Form's resize
If you doesn' like that behaviour, comment this lines in Test.Class

For n = 0 To wordWrapGrid1.Columns.Max
wordWrapGrid1.Columns[n].Expand = True
Next

Then the width of columns is "static" and remains under the mouse pointer.

Well I think I've find a solution (a tricky solution) that works: Add a
"strange string" at the end of html, search it and replace with nothing.

Teh code is something like this:

  WebView1.SetFocus()
  WebView1.html &= "··" 'two "middle points" is something I have no seen in
my life.
  WebView1.Eval("document.execCommand('findString',false,'··')") 'search
and select it...
  WebView1.Eval("document.execCommand('insertText',false,'')") 'and delete
it. The cursor remains at the end of text.

This opens the possibility for me to do the spelling "on the fly" and more
things...
If you know a better way I'll very happy to know it.

I'm doing a spelling checker for a webview. When you write a wrong word it
is highlited. That's done, but I can't set the cursor again after the word.
It always remains at begin of webview text...

Is it possible to do that?

I think that the stable version of the repository is much better suited for
that.
The trunk version is much intended for development.

Try with
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gambas-team/gambas3

It contains the last stable version of gambas. Use it for your development
and install it on client's machines. We (near 60 computers in the company)
have been done so for 5 years without problem at all.

I've follow the conversation between both of you and I undestand now. How
it works. I was confused because of Benoit old example wich uses a Module
instead a Form.

I think the trick is to make a little Form with Border=False,
transparent=true, skiptaskbar=true, with menu's editor make the popmenu and
set the tryIcon property popupmenu as de menu name.

Both events Click with left button and the pop of the menu with the right
button, works fine.

All is clear now. Thank you both very much.

¡¡KISS!! Keep It Simple Stupid!!

The htEdit 1.0.6 version does very tricky things in order to prevent
webview to follow the externals Links. I forgot the wonderfull simplicity
of STOP EVENT sentence... (Here comes the "Stupid" word).
I've Updated to 1.0.7 Version in Gambas's Farm. Much more simple and solid.

[Gambas-user] New update on Gambas Farm

[Jorge Carrión]

I've updloaded a new project in Gambas Farm (the first I upload!). Is a
light html Editor control who aims to accomplish the same task than
TextEdit, but using html insted of RichText.
It allows url and Image links. I have been based on webrowser example from
Gambas Farm.

It is a component, so you can create the insallation pack and add to you
system or jus copy/paste de source code to your proyect.

I've translated to French, English ang German... but if there errors is
google fault  I don't speak French or German...

Hope will be useful for someone

I hope the problems of the whilwind are fixed yet in your town.
I've seen your code and it's a good javascript based solution but I'm
afraid I'm not able to implement it in my proyect. This is the first time I
deal with webview component and I prefer to do it whith Gambas.

Essentialy the tricky solution I've found is keep the external urls (href
tags) of the html text in a string[] and then  to replace all  with "blind
inner links" (:

[Gambas-user] Inheritance issue... or visibility issue... or something I think

I think that I miss something here.

I have a control A inherits usercontainer. It has a property, let's say a
connection called Conexion

I have another control B inherits, let's say a listbox. It has a Private
$conexion as connection variable.

in Sub _new() or B, I code this

$conexion = me.Parent.Conexion

and get a "wanted variant get function" error.
If I stop de execution on that line an double-click on me.parent an I can
see the Conexion property without problems.

But If I code instead:

Dim o as object
o=me.parent
$conexion=o.Conexion

Then it works. I have doing something wrong... but, what?
See the attached project if I did not been clear enough.

Ok. I think that the problem is in the definition of the test table.
If you try to update a row in your table you got an error about primary key.

Try to add a "without rowid" in creation of table, like this:

CREATE TABLE "test2" ( "id" INT4 NOT NULL , "id2" INT4 NOT NULL , "fruit"
TEXT, PRIMARY KEY ("id","id2") ) without rowid

This prevents the feature of automated creation of primari index
autoincremental in all tables of sqlite and le yor constrain created
compound primary key to be the only primary key.

updates should works now.

Why in gambas the result of an erroneus update is an addition of record, I
can't imagine...

Unfortunately doesn't work with ssh sessions or nano sessions, etc. Our
target is administer a remote computer via ssh within gambas.

I like to embbed a system console, like gnome-terminal or similar, in a
form. We are doing a computer control sistem in the job, and have done a
microsoft-tree-domain inteface. i like implement the feature of open a
ssh-terminal of the showed computers, but adding it a menu bar.

Time ago there was a "embedder" control, but it not longer exist.

It's posible do this?

[Gambas-user] About the initial screen

In previous versions the icons of recently opened projects had the tooltip
property established as the path of the project. Now, if you open several
projects with same name (backups in another directory) you can't know what
of them is the original and what is the backup until you open the project.
Sometimes until you have modified the project :(

It's posible establish the old behavior?

If you declare a group of toolbuttons this way:

bCan.Width = 22
bCan.Border = False
bCan.tag = True 'col["Path"]
bCan.Action = "CancelItemCola"
next

(I mean with both clauses AS  and .Action)

When you click one of the buttons, all of them change its values at same
time...

By erasing or commenting de .Action line all works well, of course...

with de .Action property line inadvertently from other project and get
surprised by the behaviour.

Either way I don't understand why this behaviour. I think that should call
the _click event and the Action_Activate event, but not the click Event
several times...

[Gambas-user] Print Screen issue

Hi everybody,

I have to do a manual about a application of mine and it have a lot of
print screen of diferent forms but I can't capture the menu when its
expanded: the PrintScreen key doe'nt work.

Is there a way to capture the Imgage of a form with the menu expanded?

[Gambas-user] A little question about treeView

I have a treeView and I change the current item by

myTreeview.moveto(newkey)

Since then, the current key is newkey but the item is not highlightes on
screen

I can't find the way to highlight the new item... How can it be done?

Thanks Jussi... but I'm not sure that catch the SIGHUP will be the
answer... I'm very confused about this. Perhaps to open a socket listen on
port 21 will be enough,.. or not... Is only that I'm surprised that nobody
has addressed this topic before. FTP is fairly used, I think.

Take a look on GAlarm, anyway.

[Gambas-user] How Capture the console exit?

I'm doing a ftp client (like Filezilla).

If I launch the gambas executable from console I can see the dialog between
server and local machine on it... but how can I capture de console exit
within my project?

Obbiously If I launch my project from console with

./miproject.gambas 2>file.log

and after that on runtime I catch file.log in a textArea, I can see the
server's dialog... but I think that way is tricky... It must be a better
way, I suppouse.

Sumarizing: Is There a way to read the error output of the gambas project
in run time?

[Gambas-user] A question about FileChooser

Wen I click with right mouse on a filechooser and select "Open with file
administrator" (I see the menu in spanish, I don't know if is the correct
un-translation (??) to English) always open the Audacious Music player...

I suppouse is a misconfiguration of my system, but... What exactly try to
open filechooser?

And another question: Can I add options to the default popup menu of
filechooser? I mean not by replacing the menu, jus add options...

[Gambas-user] It's a Bug or I have something misconfigured?

1.- Create a new qt graphic proyect. (I've attached it)
2.- Activate de Desktop component.
3.- Put a button on fMain with the event click with this only code

desktop.open("http://yahoo.com;)
Works fine and open the default web navigator (google Chrome) with the
yahoo's page

But in console I've got the message:

Fontconfig error: Cannot load default config file

I don't know if I must report it on bugtracker or its a misconfiguration on
my computer...

 Desktop.Open() relies on an xdg-util shell script to open the file.

 When the Wait argument is True, Desktop.Open() just waits for the end of
 the xdg-util script. It does not know how to wait for the end of the
 program that will open the file for you.

 The Wait argument is mainly useful to catch a possible error when
 running a script. It is not reliable for doing what you want.

 The control always displays the selected date. So if another month has
 to be visible, the day must be in that month.

 It was not necessarily intented, it was just done like that.
