Hi All.
With last version of Playroom client, I'm able to connect from the LAN I work on. This LAN is firewalled and some doors are closed.
What is strange is that since this last update it works smoothly and I just wonderf if they changed the doors wich throw server and
clients exchange data.
HI all, I've remembered the game by infocom which was one i never finished it

This happens to me all the time as well. It's easier to just go to the website
and download the update that way.

Hi Thomas,
Not sure, could be intentional, but could also just be the amount of time and
effort or lack of skill the programmer put into writing the command interpreter.
I still don't think that it can be all that easy to write a command interpreter
that would except all of the ways that
Hi Lisa,
I once bought the full 2 box set of all of the Infocom games, so I am sure that
I at least gave Planet Fall and Station Fall a quick look. One problem that I
had though was the codes that you needed to read off of the instruction
pamphlets that came with the games. Of course now I
Hi Lisa,
Well, I don't know. I enjoyed writing Dungeon Master and do plan to add more
to it, but the thing about a text adventure game is that there is no replay
value. And actually not that much fun for me to play the first time. You
know, once you know all of the puzzles and all for the

Hi Lisa,
I remember Planetfall. Not that I personally ever played it since back then
it would have been totally inaccessible.

Hi
I ran into that problem as well, but I have no solution. I rather miss the
playroom, so finding a fix would be welcome.

Hi Lisa,
Yeah, I believe I have them both somewhere on one of my hard drives.
Been a long time since I played either one of them though.

Hi Jim,
The command interpreter is actually contained in the Winfrotz program
itself. All the z5, z8, and zip files are is data files that instruct
the interpreter what items are in the game and where to put them as
well as provide text descriptions. I don't recall the Inform syntax

Hi Jim,
As I said I'm not sure weather it is intentional or some other reason,

every way to type a certain command is one reason I have been strongly
thinking of using a menu in any text adventures I write. There are so

Hi Jim,
Well, you are right that one problem with many text adventures is
there is little replay value after the game is completed. Once you
solve all the puzzles there is really nothing to solve or figure out,
and it is for that reason I don't play text adventures more than once
or twice after
