Before releasing Beta 3 I experimented with that very issue.
Unfortunately, I was unable to correct the problem without the registry
keys being manually deleted. For some reason beta 2 left keys in the
registry which were the wrong data type, and Beta 3 was unable to reset

I was just wondering, if version 2 writes to the registry and version three
does as well couldn't version 3 fix what version 2 wrote. Just wondering since
the regedit program is pretty dangerous to play with. You know if you don't
know what you are doing with it and make a mistake

It only effects users using beta 2. Beta 1 and earlier versions didn't
place keys in the registry and serialized options to a *.cfg file.
Just make sure your USA Games\Montezuma's Revenge directory is cleanly
uninstalled before putting Beta 3 on. The beta 1 patch sometimes leaves
