in that direction. Also,

The advantage of it over standard flee is that you can pick a direction to
go in, or type retreat by itself and go back the way you came, which
presumably might be devoid of mobs

Unfortunately, you got caught by an ancient area that didn't get
completely updated to current standards. The run command didn't work
because those marsh elder rooms were flagged noflee, which makes run
impossible. I've unflagged the rooms and adjusted the number of
elders so they won't

can't run. If I were you, I'd learn retreat and word of recall
asap. The former is a much better version of flee, and the ladder
is a near certain way out of any fight.

I coppied everything to my mush directory, it didn't work.
jaws worked, not sounds.
funny thing running it from default install
folder to the main directory and things work

make sure your modifying the correct volume settings. I had this
same problem where I couldn't change the sound volume, and I
don't have a reason for it. However, reinstalling a couple times
seems to have randomly fixe it.

have sinse switched to vip mud and sapi, and have played a couple of muds
