Ok, first, are they free?
Second, I have access to aph's refreshabraille if that helps.

be nice to be able to log in and chat though, I grant that much.

Re: [Audyssey] Best roldplaying games.

2014-11-23 Thread Dakotah Rickard
Well, I personally like the Choice Of Games and Hosted Games stuff: same style,
same developer, sort of. Also, if you just want a casual grinder, try
Level-Op, I think it's called. The TIconBlue or whatever are supposed to be
good,, but they're frankly too expensive in my humble opinion.
Hmmm. There aren't too many that I've played at least. King of Dragon Pass
doesn't really count, because it's more of a civ game, but it's good.
There are more games, but I can't really vouch for them because I haven't
played them and don't know anything about them.

Re: [Audyssey] Best roldplaying games.

2014-11-23 Thread dark
There is also A dark room and The ensign, which are definitely roleplaying
games and highly worth trying.

The Ticon blu games are good (well inquisitor is and Noire isn't bad), the
high price is due to the translation, and is not so bad if you get the
bundles, however the games are more like adventure games with puzzles about
combining objects than building stats in an rp game.

king of Dragon pass is all around awsome. I'd not describe it as a
civilization style game, not with the amount of encounters and story behind
it, for a start you can't just resource manage your way through, you really
need to think about the setting and the choices your making in each scene.

What is level op?

All the best,

Dark.

[Audyssey] browser empire game, rise of chaos

2014-11-23 Thread dark
Hi.

This was one that someone mentioned on the audiogames.net forum a while ago.
I've given it a try, but I confess it's not really my thing, still it's very
accessible.

You choose from one of a number of races with different bonuses, build an
empire, explore land, develop technology, hier troops and fight other players.
I will confess after reading the world of Ice and Fire by George R r Martin, I
was looking for a game with that sort of feeling, a people exploring a vivid
and savage world fighting the environment and their enemies with unexpected
turns and events, monsters and wild lands to explore, not just another who can
grind the fastest type of affair just like all the hundreds of other games of
this type.

Still, if people want something purely for the stratogy this one might be
interesting, particularly sinse you follow your empire's development through
different ages, it just wasn't exactly what I wante d(though I don't think I've
ever seen an accessible game that really was).

http://riseofchaos.com/
There is always more to know, more to see, more to learn. The world is vast and
wondrous strange and there are more things benieth the stars than even the
archmaesters of the citadel can dream.

PocketMud is good. Mudder has a few bugs with Voiceover to where it skips some
lines of text, and even sometimes the whole description of the room and just
says the exits. I’ve not used iMud before though.

Re: [Audyssey] browser empire game, rise of chaos

2014-11-23 Thread dark

Hi Emily.

I enjoyed KoL, but I found that the turn limit, not to mention irrationality
of the puzzles was a real pest sometimes, indeed I played very seriously for
a couple of months and spent quite a bit of money getting some fun items,
but I just found it too hard to log in each day to play a turtle tamer or
seal clubber or whatever in a random kingdom of drunken hippies and the
like. I wanted something a little more serious and meaningful, and something
I didn't feel I needed the wiki so often for.

All the best,

Dark.
