Hi Ronald

I would off hand guess what you missed was the install of the dierect x 9c
I believe it is.
I think you might have to uninstall Monty, do direct x, then the game.
Find the correct order in the monty read me file.

Hello again. Was wondering about monty. When I try to run the program, it
says something about sending an error report.

I find that it is a bit hard to hear your speed in the game. do to the
crowd sound is there a way to lower the volume of the crowd a bit so that
you can better hear your speed? many thanks. from Mich Verrier from New

Re: [Audyssey] Homer on a Harley

2007-11-26 Thread Karl
Hi,
I have so far jumped 8 successfully. Here is the process:
S
P
O
I
L
E
R
1. press up arrow to get into gear, before touching the control key.
2. Hold the control key down from now until you reach the second turn.
3. When your speedometer reaches 75, 125, 175, etc. then shift up with
the up arrow.
4. continue through the curves, trying to stay near the left side of the track.
5. When you hit the second turn, release the throttle
, and shift down to get into the propper gear. However, don't shift to
quickly, or you risk exploding your engine.
6. remember what the announcer said was the approximate speed required.
As you approach the ramp, pay attention to your speedometer and engine pitch:
6.1. Shift into the correct gear for the speed you need.
6.2. Adjust your speed so that you are at the multiple of 25 nearest
the speed you need, and either speed up or slightly from there. It's
usually possible to get a fairly good idea of your speed if you listen
to the pitch of your engine. Keep pushing/releasing the control key as
needed to maintain that speed.

While this method is not foolproof, it will work most of the time if
done correctly.
HTH,
Karl

Re: [Audyssey] Montezuma's Revenge News

2007-11-26 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Ron,
The error could be any number of things. First, did you install Managed
DirectX 9.0C August 2007 after installing .Net Framework 2.0. Keep in
mind Managed DirectX is not the same thing is DirectX. Managed DirectX
are the libraries that gives .Net applications access to DirectX. The
game will not run if these dependancies are not met. The game requires
.Net Framework 2.0 or higher, Managed DirectX August 2007, and a Sapi 5
compatible synth.

You have to shift up a lot to keep your engine from exploding. Its hard.
Especially after you get past the second turn. That's where I have trouble,
I hit that second turn and I'm going so fast that I grind into the rail no
matter how hard I turn and my bike blows up. Its definitely challenging.
I'll have to play around with it a little more, so far though I haven't made
it past 1 single bus.

Re: [Audyssey] Homer on a Harley

2007-11-26 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Jim,
Here is my first impressions of the game. Well, I like both the theme
and sounds for the game so far, but I can't even make the first turn let
alone jump one bus.
I get as far as Marge starting to speak and either my engine explodes,
I flip my bike, or I hit the guard rail. Basically, I suck at the game.
I'm having major difficulty playing it which is unusual for me.

There is really little need to uninstall it, given todays hard drive

doesn't take up any system resources
otherwise.

[Audyssey] Sarah game patch 4 is finished and ready for download!

2007-11-26 Thread Phil Vlasak
Sarah and the Castle of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Patch4, for version 1.0.
For those who downloaded the full game, here is a smaller patch that fixes
some bugs.
http://www.pcsgames.net/Sarah-Patch4.exe
 Sarah Patch4.
It is 19.6 MB, finished November 26, 2007.
Many people did not like the objects calling out their names so I made an
attempt to limit this and replaced the name with a sound effect.
This makes the game a little more difficult as you will have to examine or
scan an object to tell what it is.
Once you recognize the sound though, the game will become easier and I hope
more enjoyable.
Object detector.
You hit O to turn this object detector on and when you walk through the
halls you will hear
suit of armor in four feet.
or trick step in two feet.
To turn this feature off hit o again.
New Spells.
I moved the apparate to the spell list. And I added two new spells,
Homenum revelio and disillusicorpus.
You can find out what they do in the full spell list.
I changed the Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw common rooms to match Jo's
description in the last book and from her answers to interview questions.
I also moved some of the rooms and doors around, especially on the ground
floor and basement.
I connected the Kitchen wing with the Hufflepuff wing with an east west
corridor.
And I moved the kitchen door to the center of that corridor.
I also put an antiChamber door in the Great Hall.
There is a new object in your inventory, your Potion Making Kit.
At the beginning of the game it is empty, but when you pick up a potion it
goes right into the kit.
You can drop the kit and later pick it up.
You can check how many of the seven potions you have by hitting x on it from
your inventory.
I added new creatures in the Forbidden Forest and in the lake.
I now allow you to get on and ride the flying Motorbike, but you have to
find it first.
I also added a few new magical items and books around the castle and
especially in the Headmaster's office.

Patch 4 has all the bug fixes that were in Patch 1, 2, and 3, so I removed
them.
It is to be installed in the same folder as the full Sarah install.
Unless there are any problems, I will eventually include the patch into the
full version.
You can try out the first game chapter which includes the Ground floor, and
Basement.
You can play this chapter as many times as you wish.
A registration key will unlock all 14 chapters.
Sarah and the Castle of Witchcraft and Wizardry, is sold through a
collaboration with Draconis Entertainment.
the Draconis Entertainment home page.
The price for a registration key that unlocks the full game is $31.95 US.

If you have any questions, E-mail Phil Vlasak, [EMAIL PROTECTED]
We make games that tickle your ears.

Re: [Audyssey] Hi

2007-11-26 Thread shaun everiss
its not timed per say.
I don't have my guide anymore because I just don't.
It went away in a small crash, and pluss its sort of out of date as it is.

No timed mode is not on level 8
At the last level junction of the last hall there is a door and a passage.
This actually governs what portal is accessible.
ie one will explode.
My suggestion well I have none.
you can go left and get the armour, however I recomend you go right.
There are 2 sollutions.
If you go through the door.
shoot the monsters and get all items.
then find the door there is another.
you will find a teleporter.
kill the monsters.
Shoot the teleporter because you will need the place twhere it is.
There is sometimes a message on the teleporter spot.
Search for a door, there is one its just hidden in a funny place.
walk through the room killing things and picking things up.
Now there is another door.
kill the monstershere.
if there is a teleporter here, mark your position and mark each door back to
the outside.
Now get the armour,
and go back to the teleporter and you are on level9.

2. if you choose the passage first get the armour and then go to the end of
the passage and follow it.
kill the monsters etc, etc.
do as in step1 to remark places.
I recomend for beginners to go through the room first rather than the passage
as you then have an easy teleport access rather than doing the passage first.
Tip.
if you go to the passage you will here an explosion on the right.
this means the teleporter in the hidden rooms is active.
if you here a explosion on the left it means the passage teleporter is active.
I suspect they can not both be active at once.

I didn't spam anyone I don't think.
Actually its easy to think the level8 was timed.
the second teleporter is in a room off a room, and its hidden.
The doors are hard to find, you have to search.
 the first one is easy.

Re: [Audyssey] Homer on a Harley

2007-11-26 Thread Jim Kitchen
Hi Nicol,

You can not hold down the left control key for ever. Your engine gets up to
it's maximum speed and if you hold it there for too long the engine will blow
up. The engine does sound different at and near it's maximum RPM slash speed.
You need to either let off the throttle slash left control key or shift into
the next gear by pressing the up arrow key.

Here is a drive slash walk through.

I press the enter key to start my Harley. I press the left control key and the
up arrow key. Once I get to about 75 mph I press the up arrow key again to
shift into second gear. At about 125 mph I shift into the next gear and the
same about every 50 mph after that. I also have to use the left arrow key to
stay towards the left side of the track. Once I get to the second turn where
Lisa says "Were all proud of you Dad" I start pressing the down arrow key until
I get back down into first gear. I let my Harley slow way down to an idol I
then use the left and right arrow keys to line up on Maggie's car horn. I now
start tapping the left control key to get at and stay at just above 25 mph. Of
course the next jump it needs to be 40 mph and on and on.

Hi Charles,
That is currently my plan. I am having troubles compiling level 4 and I
am far from a complete and ready product. I'm going to have to sell the
game as is, with no bosses, and then make some sort of optional upgrade
in the future. A 2.0 version or something down the road those who like
the changes can buy it, and those who don't won't.

I'll fix the launch bug as soon as I can. As far as levels go, I'm thinking

version for sale that would go all out with new features, boss battles,
and whatever else people wanted but didn't get in 1.0.

Hi Ryan,

The game's been altared enough from it's original version.. lol It's
nothing like
it's original intent. I don't see why it would hurt to change it some more.
End quote

That is sort of a yes and no. I do want to keep something of the
original game in place. However, I do have plans down the road, not
immediately, of a 2.0 version which will be a different experience from
1.0. Both will be available for sale from USA Games but Monte 2 will
address some of these changes that I didn't want in 1.0. Those of who
who are in the mind set of it wont' hurt to change it some more will get
your chanse when 2.0 begins development sometime in the future.

Re: [Audyssey] good good news about Monty beta6. IT WORKS!!!!!!

2007-11-26 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Talksina,
That is great news. It really is.
As for foreign language packs once I get 1.0 out the door perhaps we can
discuss expanding it for multiple languages. I am certainly not aposed
to the idea, and would need translators helping with the work.
If this is something that is in demand by our foreign language speaking
customers it might be possible to create a flat xml file which you could
edit with notepad replacing english frazes with Italian, Spanish,
German, etc...
Though, I would have to be careful with some things like copyright
information I wouldn't want to be edited. However, the other stuff
should be customisable.

Hi,
No promises here, but after I get Raceway well along in development I
may reopen development on Monte and see about adding in things like this
that users are asking for.
I have been working on an ideas list for a 2.0 version of the game, but
I won't share those as I don't want to get peoples hopes up to early and
spoil the fun of the surprises I have in mind.

Hi,
The only way that would have worked is if you got as many swords as

at least one boss for the game.

Re: [Audyssey] Monte bosses.

2007-11-26 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Bryan,
The idea of a sequel version at some point might not be a bad idea. In
the sequel I wouldn't necessarily follow strict guidelines of the
original since Monte does that well enough.
In the sequel I can bring Angela back, but make all new temples, add in
things that got dropped through development, add bosses, and generally
do a bang up job that I couldn't do in this version.
I like the concept. Especially, if I add many of the feature requests
given to me that I didn't take for one reason or another.

Hi Phil,
No, the USA Games version isn't pyramid shaped as was the maps you are
reading. I based mine on a virble descriptions of each of the levels and
attempted to duplicate it based on what was described to me. To make
things easier to program I made a 100 by 50 rectangle to place the game
world into.

2007-11-26 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Bryan,
Perhaps, but that information was never shared with me while transfering
the game. As I said the idea of a boss never occurred to me since I was
intending to clone the original to some greater degree.
My only question is if bosses were going to be so important why wait
until the last two or three weeks of development when I am finalising
things to ask for bosses? That is way way too late in the development
cycle to start over and add things that should have been added months
ago. As a result it could be months before I get around to adding that
feature if at all.

Re: [Audyssey] question about homer on a harley

2007-11-26 Thread Jim Kitchen
Hi Damien,

If you are flipping your Harley over, it is because you are revving the engine
up too high before you put it into gear. You do not even need to rev it up.
Once Homer says "Look Bart I'm driving" just press the up arrow key and then
hold down the left control key. But you can hold down the left control key for
a short period of time before you press the up arrow key to put it into gear.
You can also just play with the control key but let your engine come back down
to idle before putting it into gear. Again though you do not want to hold
maximum rpm for too long or your engine will explode.

2007-11-26 Thread Mich
hi Jim I just tryed your game and foundit quite fun. The only question I
have for you is this. How do you rev back up again after slowing down to
make a left hand tern? I was only able to get to the point were marge says
slow and steddy wins the race. I always ended up crashing in to the gard
rails lol. Many Thanks for any help that you could give me. from Mich

Re: [Audyssey] question about homer on a harley

2007-11-26 Thread Jim Kitchen
Hi Mich,

Depending on how fast you are going in a turn you will slide out towards the
garde rail. So in the first turn tap the left arrow key or hold it down.
Holding down or tapping the left control key speeds you up. You can hold down
the left control key, tap or hold the left or right arrow key and press the up
or down arrow key to shift up or down all at the same time.

I hope that helps.

[Audyssey] undocumented sound rts function question

2007-11-26 Thread alex wallis
HI list.
i've got a question about sound rts i just found some key strokes that
aren't documented and was wondering what they do?
the strokes i'm thinking of are
control shift f5, control shift f6 and control shift f7.
if you press these combinations of keys weird things happen that don't have
any noticeable affect on the game.
does anyone no what there for?
also i pressed something once no idea what it was but the game said display
on i didn't no the game had a graphical mode.
